Jonath Backia Seelan is the Director and conductor of Singspirations since 2011. He is best known for revival of traditional Tamil Christian choruses with his peppy and stirring harmony works. He has worked with many orchestral and choral groups both as performer and associate conductor.

He started playing music when he was 7 years old and started formal training in music in organ performance when he was 11. Before joining Singspirations he was a chorister and church organist for 20 years in St. Thomas Church, Srivilliputtur, Tamil Nadu. He has completed Grade 8 in Theory of Music and Piano with Trinity College London. He is an Associate of Trinity College London (ATCL in singing).

He is presently a music educator, Founder & Director of Crescendo Music House, trailblazing quality music education in Trichy. As a music educator he works to share his passion and pass on his dedication for music to young children and adults. He gave up his 10 year corporate career and the position of associate vice-president for a leading educational network before answering to his call to music.

When he is not conducting, performing or training he is actively involved in learning. Self-taught in Guitar, Violin and Harmonica, currently he is seen with his Flute.
